Joseph B. Diehl CPA JD serves as the Managing Director of Diehl & Co. LLC, a Seattle-based association management company, consulting, coaching and fundraising organization. Diehl & Co. LLC was formed in 1996. 

Joe brings over five decades in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors, beginning at the entry level and eventually becoming an accomplished senior level executive. The first half of his career was invested in accounting and finance – joining the staff of Peat Marwick Mitchell, CPAs (now, KPMG) in 1970 as an Intern.  After passing the CPA examination and holding a variety of controller positions in the real estate industry, he rose to Chief Financial Officer at a large, real estate investment management organization in Los Angeles – TCW Realty Advisors (1982-1990).

The second half of his career focused on nonprofit service.  He began serving at the Executive Director level of an industry nonprofit association in 1990 for three years; and then became Director of Operations for People of Color Against AIDS Network in Seattle, in AIDs prevention and education.  In 1996, he formed Diehl & Co. LLC and has managed several nonprofit membership association including the Affordable Housing Management Association of WA, WA State Council for Affordable & Rural Housing (now ARHC), and the Northwest Indian Housing Association. Recently, he contracted with the National American Indian Housing Council in DC for over two years at a senior level, where he helped implement an eLearning and Learning Management System platform, and directed the implementation of a new general ledger and project cost accounting system for NAIHC.

Diehl & Co. LLC continues to provide association management services – including event management; is a licensed and bonded professional auctioneer, as well as providing grant writing services and providing eLearning solutions with an offshore technology company.  Personally, he enjoys a new role as a public speaker and providing mentoring to nonprofit organizations.

Joe will be offering one-on-one Functional Medicine coaching starting in March, 2023 upon graduation from the Institute for Functional Medicine. Joe is a survivor of SAD (the Standard American Diet) and all the chronic ills that befall most Americans as they age.  Joe has run 16 marathons, 8 ultra-marathons, and hopes to continue to push the limits of endurance into many future decades.

Joe and his wife Sue live in both Seattle, WA and Tucson, AZ.
